World Cancer Day
WHO has reported that cancer is the leading cause of death worldwide. There were 18.1 million new cases of cancer worldwide in 2020. In India, one in nine people are likely to develop cancer in his/her lifetime. Joining hands with the global cancer community, FAsCE India observed World Cancer Day on February 4, 2023. The program started with a screening of few videos on understanding the different types of cancer. The video clips included ways to prevent and treat cancer. Later, there was an interaction round to assess the understanding and knowledge of the children. Some of the children mentioned that tabacco and gutkha consumption leads to cancer. Miss Preeti, Teacher, explained the root causes of cancer and recommended good habits to live healthy.
