International Women’s Day
This year, the International Women's Day was marked with a theme "DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality". A gender-responsive approach to innovation, technology and digital education can increase the awareness of women and girls regarding their rights and civic engagement. Advancements in digital technology offer immense opportunities to address development and humanitarian challenge faced by women. FAsCE India commemorated the day in Narengi and Chandrapur on March 08, 2023. In Narengi, the SHG members from Geetamandir, Forest Gate, Bongaon participated in the event. Mr. Sanjib Kumar Das, Guest Faculty, IIE as Chief Guest, Dr.LiyiKarso, Research Officer(H) & Scientist-2, RRI(H) as Guest of Honour, Fr Antony Kattathara, Executive Director, FAsCE India, Fr Genes Shangplian Superior of Provincialte Community, MSFS Provintialate Community, Narengi and Venerini Sisters were present on the occasion.

Fr Ariokiaswamy, Principal, Don Bosco High School, Chandrapur, graced the celebration as Chief Guest in Gobardhan village. Women from SHGs and community performed colourful dances to Bollywood and Cultural beats. The best dancers were given prizes to encourage and motivate the women. The Chief Guest in his speech appreciated the amount of work done by women. He reiterated that women need to be recognized and acknowledged for their role in the family, community and society. He said that women deserve all the happiness for their tireless work.
